SPIN Lab – LA+ CREATURE International Design Competition

I collaborated with my co-worker, Whitney Tidd, on a conceptual proposal advocating for North American silk moths (Luna, Polyphemus, and Regal) in response to urbanization, light pollution, and invasive species. Contributed to project ideation and led the design of key visuals, including species graphics and the conceptual SPINbot—a mobile unit designed to protect habitat, reduce light pollution, and promote public engagement through art and education.

I contributed to the overall concept and led the design of the graphic series illustrating the three moth species—Luna, Polyphemus, and Regal—as well as the conceptual design of the SPINbot, bringing the initiative’s visual narrative to life.

While our project was not selected among the competition’s finalists, we’re proud to have contributed to the dialogue around designing for coexistence—and had a great time doing it.
